Angelique Clyde-Smith - Volunteer of the Year

Angelique awarded for 29 years of volunteering

The ACT Ice Skating Association would like to congratulate our President, Angelique Clyde-Smith, for receiving the Trophylink Volunteer of the Year Award, presented at the ClubsACT Sport Star of the Year Awards Gala Dinner, Friday 21 October 2011.

Angelique was selected as one of four finalists to receive this wonderful award. As her name was announced for winning the award, she was surprised and delighted; commenting during her speech:

“I have got more out of this wonderful and graceful sport than I have put into it and am very honoured to receive this award”.

Everyone in the ACT skating community will agree that Angelique is very deserving of this award because of her dedication to her craft, her support for her judging peers, encouragement for ice skaters at all levels, her love of synchronized ice skating and her amazing energy year after year.

ACTISA’s Secretary, Sue Shelley commented, “This award for Angelique is long overdue and a wonderful acknowledgement of someone who has committed so much of herself to assisting with the management of ice skating here in the ACT, to judging locally, nationally and internationally and for being a wonderful advocate for all ice skaters and judges in the ACT and region.”
